I'm a Chatterbox Strictly the One to Deny in FG Oaks
The $400,000 Grade 2 Fair Grounds Oaks March 28 at Fair Grounds features a field of eight three year-old fillies set to contest the mile and one sixteenth event on the main track with several starters eyeing the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks in May.
I’m a Chatterbox (4/5) has been nothing short of impressive in 2015, winning the Silverbulletday Stakes and Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra in consecutive starts while showing impressive versatility. The chestnut daughter of Munnings won the Silverbulletday by eight lengths in gate-to-wire fashion before rallying from over nine lengths back in the Rachel Alexandra to post a two and a half length score. Since the Rachel Alexandra, I’m a Chatterbox has a series of superior workouts at Fair Grounds for trainer Larry Jones including a bullet move March 16 where she covered five furlongs in 59.1 seconds. Florent Geroux, who was aboard for both wins, gets the call breaking from post six.
Forever Unbridled takes another crack at Chatterbox
Forever Unbridled (3/1) finished a distant second to I’m a Chatterbox in the Silverbulletday, and returned to close the margin despite finishing third to the favorite in the Rachel Alexandra Stakes. The Dallas Stewart trainee looks to be the biggest threat to I’m a Chatterbox in the field, but could once again be running for a minor award.
Shook Up tires to get back on track
Shook Up (6/1) demonstrated big-time ability in her second career start, earning a 94 Beyer Speed Figure over a muddy track January 3 at Fair Grounds. Since that race, however, the Steve Asmussen trainee has looked less impressive in two starts on fast dirt, including a fifth place effort in the Rachel Alexandra.
