On Saturday at Keeneland, the featured race is the $150,000 Valley View Stakes. Restricted to three-year-old fillies, the Grade 3 event will be run at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf and has drawn a full field of fourteen with two additional fillies listed as also-eligible.
Sunset Glow has been installed as the favorite in the deep field at odds of 4-1 on the morning line for Wesley Ward. A gray daughter of Exchange Rate, she has been on the board in ten of her eleven starts and was the runner-up last year in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1). The consistent filly has gone winless from five starts as a sophomore and was third last time out in a minor stakes race at Kentucky Downs. Rafael Hernandez will be aboard from post ten.
Osaila (IRE) making second start back in the U.S.
Second choice at morning line odds of 9-2 is Osaila (IRE) for trainer Todd Pletcher. A bay daughter of Danehill Dancer (IRE), she has five wins from twelve starts and will be trying to breakthrough and earn her first graded stakes victory. The globe-trotting filly was third in the Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) last fall and then spent most of this year competing in England. She was fifth in the Sands Point Stakes (G2) in her domestic return and will have Florent Geroux aboard from post seven.
Tiger Ride trying for first graded stakes win
Also in the field at morning line odds of 10-1 is Tiger Ride, one of two fillies in the race for trainer Graham Motion. A homebred for owner Dixiana Farm, the bay daughter of Candy Ride (ARG) has won four of her eight starts and will be trying for her first graded stakes win. She was last seen winning the Indiana Grand Stakes by one length. Edgar Prado has the mount and they are scheduled to break from post position nine.
